The World's First Hybrid Superyacht

Feadshipa Dutch luxury shipbuilder, launched the world's first hybrid superyacht called Savannah with an impressive size of  83.5m. With her pioneering electro-mechanical propulsion platform, this custom created yacht is the future of the environmentally friendly yachting business. In economic terms, its innovative engine generates fuel savings of up to thirty per cent in comparison to similar sized yachts.

Savannah's engine load is exceeding the industry standards due to her extraordinary propeller size (about 40 per cent larger than the average). The Li-ion batteries with one million Watts grant increased velocity and facilitate quiet cruising at slow speeds. Further innovation comes in the form of a stunning exterior profile, an “underwater lounge“ and many more new features. Ted McCumber, the owner’s project manager, describes the super yacht to be exceptional due to the combination of individual technologies used.

Savannah is remarkable for its Sea Foam green exterior, making her the largest yacht to be fully coated in metallic paint. Additionally, her outstanding design is distinguished by the aft owner - and main deck areas forming one single open space with sliding glass doors. Thus, with the doors open, a feeling of being one with the sea is created.

The yacht's other feature are no less impressive. For instance a nine metre swimming pool and an underwater lounge where guests can watch fish swimming by, whilst having a cocktail, give her an extraordinary character. A room, which can be converted into a cinema, provides the perfect evening enjoyment for the guests and 26 crew members. Savannah also incorporates four large guest suites and a VIP stateroom with balcony.

All in all, the development of Savannah, the first hybrid yacht ever, promises fuel savings, innovative designs and new features. She is available for exclusive occasional charter by Feadship.
